Who are Macmillan?

At Sunflower, we recognise and understand how much cancer can affect your life in so many ways. Cancer is the second-leading cause of death, in the world. But survival rates are improving for many types of cancer, thanks to improvements in cancer screening, treatment, and prevention.

Macmillan Cancer Support raise money to provide vital cancer services, research, and campaign for better cancer care. They also support the cancer workforce. There are millions of supporters, professionals, volunteers and campaigners.

Macmillan provide services for people living with cancer at every stage of their cancer experience and are there to provide emotional, practical, physical, and financial support. Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations, so fundraising is essential to make sure they can deliver the vital support people living with cancer need.

How are we involved?

Here at Sunflower Nursery, we proudly support Macmillan Cancer Research.

We’re honoured to be a partner of Macmillan, and we contribute to their mission by holding week fundraisers such as Bake Sales, in setting Competitions, fancy dress days, raffles and many many more fun activities!

Sunflower Nursery is proud to say that we are part of a movement of tens of thousands of people across the UK, who are campaigning for better support for people living with cancer.

Here at Sunflower Nursery Our nursery is dedicated to helping Macmillan in their important work as cancer has affected some of our parents and staff in the past.

Through our efforts, we aim to make a positive impact and assist Macmillan in their cause. By partnering with Macmillan, we play a part in helping with their charitable work and we’re committed to aiding the charity in their mission through our nursery’s contribution by asking parents to get involved with some of our events.

Our nursery is a strong advocate for Macmillan’s mission and actively contributes to their efforts every year and We essentially collaborate with Macmillan Charity to aid and support for their initiatives.
